Notes from DDA:
The rooftop is almost uncannily satisfying to my obsession. I have always been attracted to this particular facet of a building, but it was in Japan that I discovered my undeniable affection to the rooftop. Growing up in the East Asia, I was surrounded by architectures either extremely hideous without any taste or quintessentially oriental in aesthetics. At this vantage point, you have more than just a view but a vision. Such vision guides you to the world of WuXia, an imagined space that remains essentially East Asian, forever mysterious and adventurous. You don’t necessarily need to employ a bird’s vision to see the rooftop. On the contrary, looking up from the ground provides the best view because when the head is down you are a thinker, but when the head is up you are a dreamer. #DDAimage
